Luke Dennehy From: Sunday Herald Sun June 19, 201112:00AM THE X Factor Australia judges will make a surprise visit to music mogul Simon Cowell in Los Angeles next week for a rev-up before the show begins. Spice Girl Mel B, Ronan Keating, Guy Sebastian and new judge Natalie Bassingthwaighte will head to LA for a day to talk to Cowell, the man who owns the rights to The X Factor franchise. It's believed the judges don't know exactly what will be discussed with Cowell, but he's likely to give tips to make the show a bigger hit than last year. It was Cowell who gave the green light to hire Mel B for the Australian version of the show. Production insiders say the judges believe the talent this year is 80 per cent better than last year. The X Factor did not set the ratings on fire last year, but with shows like Australia's Got Talent and Dancing with the Stars rating better this year, Seven hopes the revamped judging panel will help make the show a hit. It will premiere in late July or early August. The X Factor is a national obsession in Britain. Meanwhile, Natalie Bassingthwaighte is working on new music that will be released this year. The singer has been recording the music as she gets set to begin work on The X Factor, which will premiere in late July or early August. www.heraldsun.com.au/ipad/x-factor-judges-to-visit-simon-cowell/story-fn6bn80a-1226077646856

A good way to lift Aussie X-Factor for viewers all over the world would be to lift the local judges' profiles. Hint, hint, Simon. Plus so many Aussies think an artist isn't much good if he/she isn't 'international'.
