Kelly's awards outburst

VIDEO Hits host and former Australian Idol finalist Kelly Cavuoto has left Channel Ten in the wake of a display of obnoxious behaviour at an awards ceremony last week.
Cavuoto raised more than a few eyebrows at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards at Luna Park on Tuesday with a display of alcohol-fuelled foul language and abuse at television screens whenever singer Guy Sebastian appeared on them.
She had been hosting Video Hits since January after making the Idol final 12 in 2003, but has flown from Sydney back to her family in Adelaide after leaving her hosting job on Friday.
A Ten spokeswoman yesterday said her behaviour at the awards was unrelated to her exit from the station, but admitted Cavuoto had been reprimanded by management.
"She and the network agreed that her behaviour was inappropriate and she regrets her behaviour on that night," the spokeswoman said.
Cavuoto's time on Video Hits inspired her to pursue her music career rather than continue at the station, according to Ten.
"Having interviewed all those artists has inspired her and made her realise that she really wants to pursue her own musical career," the spokeswoman said.
"She's decided to leave and do that."
Her Video Hits co-host Axle Whitehead will go solo on the show for the time being, but Ten has its eyes peeled for a potential replacement for Cavuoto.
