THE FINAL 24 This year performers are told their fate in groups and well as solo. As one after another is told they haven’t made it through, panic sweeps the waiting room. Tarisai Vushe brings her bible along with her. "The only one who knows if I’m going to get through is God," she says. And the judges, of course, and they tell her she is. Next Daniel Mifsud enters the room. "Music is my life, there’s no backup plan," he admits. He won’t have to worry about that for now – he’s made it. Mildura’s Holly Weinert and Jesse Curran are already firm friends and they hear their fate together. While the judges feel they are very similar artists, they are decide to leave the ultimate decision to the Australian public. The same goes for Brianna Carpenter. Marcia isn’t sure if her style will work on the show, but now that’s up to the public. Next Marcia has some words for Carl Riseley. "I fought as hard as I could," Marcia says. "And this time I won." Carl is speechless. He is congratulated outside by ex-girlfriend Cheray Doughty who also hears the good news. Jack Byrnes, who has made it to the top 100 before, enters the judge’s room with his performance group – only to be told that he is the only one going through. Hunsy Thalib has impressed with his unique style, but judges question whether Marty Simpson is letting his personality through. Kyle tells Matt Corby that if he stays grounded he could reach the top end of the comp. All are in. Mark asks 17-year-old Ben McKenzie if he is willing to risk the semis – if he is voted out he can never reapply. He says he is and realises Mark has been playing him when he’s told he is in. "I hate you Mark Holden!" he jokes. "Join the club," quips Dicko. Mark is up to his old tricks with Jacob Butler and almost has him thinking he is going home. Jacob falls to the ground when he hears he’s made it. Lyall Adonis is a bundle of nerves, and despite his obvious talent seems to lack confidence. "There’s only one person in this room that doesn’t believe in Lyall Adonis," says Dicko, "And that’s you." Sarah Lloyde, Mark Da Costa, Lana Krost, Sally Van Der Zwart, Morgan Hosking, Natalie Gauci, Madison Pritchett and Junior To’o all too get the nod from the judges. Final female contestantsRosie Ribbons and Cyndi Dietrich enter the room together – and Cyndi loses out to former Pop Idol finalist Rosie. Last but not least are Dave Andrews and James Davies – the judges agree they are both brilliant, polished performers, but Dicko thinks Dave will sell records. And there we have it: our top 24. Now it’s up to the viewers as to who will make the top 12 – bring it on!

FINAL 12 IT ALL BEGINS TONIGHT!!!GOOD LUCK TO SOME OF MY FAVS SO FAR DANIEL MATT NATALIE (big Guy fan) TARISAI HOLLY I READ THAT NATALIE IS A BIG GUY FAN SO SHE GETS MY VOTE....LOL WELL NOT JUST BECAUSE OF THAT THOUGH... Natali Gauci, VIC Age: 25 Melbourne's Natalie Gauci caused a real splash in the audition room when Dicko proclaimed her "one of the best people we've seen". "You can win this competition," he told her. Having seen favourites lack public support in the past, Marcia was having none of it, telling the 25-year-old Dicko’s words were the "kiss of death". Nevertheless, there was no arguing with the former hairdressing apprentice's talent. Natalie was chosen as a Wild Card entrant and then judge’s pick for the Final 12 after her sultry and note-perfect rendition of Nina Simone’s “Feeling Good”. “It’s very exciting,” the gifted musician told the judges. “It was torture, but thank you for believing in me. Thank you so much.” Perhaps surprisingly for a performer of such obvious talent, 2007 was the first time Natalie auditioned for Australian Idol. “I was just waiting for the right time,” she explains. “I really needed to be grounded and believe in who I am. Being judged by the nation, I'd like to show who I really am as best as I can.” Natalie is a lover of soul, blues, jazz and pop, Guy Sebastian and Doritos.

I can't believe Australia has voted off Mark De Costa this week !!!
Mark & Jacob were the two bottom & I would rather have seen Jacob go. Oh well it's not the first time I've been disappointed with the vote.
For once I agree with Mark Holden when he said "Remember Ricky Lee left around the same time on the show & she has now had a No 1 hit for 10 weeks" .......So don't give up Mark you have learned a lot on Idol & go grab all the advantages you can get from the experience.

Yes it sure is amazing how Channel 7 always try to find something wrong with Idol. Could it be a bit of the green eyed monster as Idol seems to rate so well every year. No other channel seems to be able too match it rating wise. And SO WHAT IF THEY'RE CHRISTIANS !!! would they rather have some druggie types for our youth to look up to .... I mean really!!......come on channel 7 put the violin's away & stop picking. They wouldn't be there if they couldn't SING BY THE WAY ISN'T MARK DE COSTA A CHRISTIAN & HE GOT VOTED OFF LAST WEEK SO THERE GOES YOU THEORY CHANNEL 7 ........ IF IT WAS ALL ABOUT HILLSONG, HE'D STILL BE THERE.

BEST OF LUCK IN THE FURTURE JACOB good call LD..............but I have to say that he was all class in his farewell speech...........good luck to him. Well another bottom three for Daniel ..........will he be in the bottom three next week?.........or maybe Ben? tough call from now on in. I thought it was time for Jacob to go but I was really impressed with both his farwell speach & performance. It's amazing how , when the pressure is off, their farwell performance is always much better than when they sing it on the Sunday. Good luck to him in the future. He's not someone I'd pay money to go & see (not like Guy......he could send me broke lol & I wouldn't care) but I wish him well. Daniel .......mmmmm.....I really hope he can manage to pull something out of the bag for next Sunday. I would like to see him stay. I'm not into Jazz / Swing so I'm kinda hoping it's Carl that goes next.
