i must say, despite not having watched any of the show, i am currently disappointed with the result - LOL I know Emily was the favorite & a lot of people will be disappointed but that is the nature of the show. Personally I preferred Kate so I'm happy with the result. I WILL BUY her CD when it's released but I would not have bought Emily's.....TO EACH HIS OWN. Overall, this years Idol had some great talent & I'm sure we will be hearing from a few of them in the future. I'd like to bet we haven't heard the last of people like Emily, Lee, Ann & the young Milly

:o >:( ::)l think Kate is not a Austrlian Idol because she cant make so much cd as every body in the top 13 because she is not a good singinger after all she is so mean because she never seen the lat 2003 Idol last time with Guy sebastian who is the star she have to learn her new song's and her Lyrics too. Love Sallyk

Here's an interesting article on the new Aus Idol
Kate's idle sales Kate DeAraugo might have scored the top spot in this week's ARIA chart, but she could hardly be said to have rocketed to number one - the Australian Idol winner sold even fewer singles than the 2004 Idol, Casey Donovan.
DeAraugo's debut single, Maybe Tonight, only sold around 20,000 units in its first week of release. Donovan's first single, Listen With Your Heart, shifted more than 35,000 copies in the same time.
Angels Brought Me Here, the debut single of the first Australian Idol Guy Sebastian, flew off the shelves in its first week, selling more than 128,000 copies.
DeAraugo's lukewarm sales highlight the overall failure of the third season of Australian Idol. The ratings for 2005's final episode dropped by 49 per cent compared to the previous year.
DeAraugo's debut album, A Place I've Never Been, is slated for release on December 11.
